5 Tips To Create Hampton’s Bathroom In Perth
May 21, 2018

Now the thing we love about the Hampton’s look is that it’s a perfect reminder of a more detailed time with every element taken into to consideration and careful appreciation. What’s not to love about being able to bring such an inspirational look into your Perth home? You’ll feel as though you’re permanently on holiday but not in Bali! Hampton style interior decorating ideas are easy to achieve, too. It’s an understated look, relying on neutral colours and selected feature items to draw the eye. Let On the Ball Bathrooms show you how! and read to the bottom where we give you a few hints on how to do it a little more affordable.

5 Tips to Create a Hampton's Style Bathroom

1. High-Gloss Floor Tiles and a Grey Palette

With Hampton style bathrooms, the finishes are very specific to the overall style. These include the correct choices in tiles, cabinetry, fittings, tapware, lighting, and accessories. All the elements really set the scene for the bathroom, and keep the look stylish. Imagine if the tiles weren’t glossed? They’d make the bathroom feel too earthy and organic. That’s not the look we’re going for here, so go gloss with your floor tile. Also, ensure you choose a large tile. By opting for a tile of this size, you let the more intricate wall tile become the star of the show. The gloss also allow for you matt cabinetry to stand out more as it does not all feel the same. The grey and white palette are the best tones for this style of bathroom renovation in Perth WA as Hampton bathrooms as stated above need to be away from stark but homely.

2. Marble Wall Tiles

These marble wall tiles 600mm x 600mm or the gloss white tiles laid in a herringbone pattern scream Hampton’s style bathroom. But of course, they add in an additional scream: modern. You might not be used to seeing such a tile in a classic Hampton’s home but we are in the modern age so why not upgrade where you can. Its best you apply this marble effect to a few walls only, or it will become too overpowering. Here it’s the feature wall and that looks just about enough. You can do a dark grout on the herringbone subway tiles but I feel that can be a little too much. The Inglewood bathroom below incorporates a few modern elements.

3. Shaker Cabinetry

The shaker style cabinetry and those gorgeous vintage-inspired handles go a long way to tapping into the classic Hampton’s style. While so many other elements in this space are contemporary, you do have to have some subtle nods to tradition. And these cabinets do it wonderfully. Often the most expensive part of the Hampton’s bathroom renovations as Perth shaker bathroom cabinetry can be rare and needed to be custom made so it’s important to get this part right.

4. Free-Standing Tub

The simplicity of the white freestanding tub–really stands out against the dark tiles. Had you gone for a white tile on the floor, it would have blended into the backdrop too much. The colour contrast is what allows the bathtub to feel like a feature in the space. But it doesn’t detract from the tiles. If you can get a grey marble tile with a white freestanding bath it will be perfect. Freestanding baths are the most luxurious relaxing item you can install in a bath and one of the top items I recommend to all people installing baths in Perth.

5. Plantation Shutters

A Hamptons style bathroom is all about light. Apart from looking to lighting on the roof and walls, you need to consider natural lighting too. A large window is one of the most important features in a bathroom, and plantation shutters keep the vibe coastal but sophisticated. Keep the colour here a crisp white to match the bath and you’re all good to go.

Doing Hamptons On The Cheap.

Ikea Ikea Ikea or bunnings but mostly IKEA. Ikea brings you the Hampton style Perth bathrooms on a more affordable level due to the nature of the companies design. Always aiming to be a little different Ikea offers you a modern European design with a twist so always be on the lookout for a bargain. You can even turn your laundry designs into a more classic design.

Now it’s not ideal to go on the cheap when doing a Hampton style bathroom why we can’t all afford the thousands in custom made cabinetry. I am a big adviser for tiling over cabinets as I always feel its more affordable and can make a statement so why not combine your tile selection and lower costing IKEA cabinets in your next budget bathroom renovation in Perth.

Hampton renovations are a throwback to relaxing times. You don’t have to have your house on the beach in Scarborough to make it a relaxing place to be. Items such as freestanding bath and lots of natural light allow for a welcoming space. Most of the Hampton bathroom renovations we do in Perth are people looking for a more classic renovation, so it’s important when renovating, to renovate to what you want and not always think of the resale value, as it’s you that is going to get the most out of YOUR renovation.
