Combo Shower Outlet – Why You Need It
April 20, 2018

Shower combos have a lot of names such as, fixed shower head and rail, 2 in 1 Outlet, dual-outlet, but shower-combos is my of choice because that is what they are, a combination of a showerhead and a handheld rail. The reason this style of one of my favourites choices for the bathroom renovations we do in Perth is because they give you the best of both worlds. The overhead shower allows for the traditional rainfall style of the shower but has the handheld which is great for cleaning and keeping the hair from getting wet, which my wife loves not so much me as I have not got that much!.

Below we will break down the three most common types of shower combos you can do.

(Most Common) Shower Head on Rail

This style has a long adjustable rail that allows for the height of the handheld shower to be adjusted to suit you. The biggest cons of this design is the rail can be quite long and be distracting for some people. It is our most common outlet due to the practical nature and the existing shower spout outlet is often in a perfect spot for the combo opposed to something such as a head-on a hose which need to be off-centred.

Joined Combo (No Rails)

Shower combos with no rail are fixed shower outlets with a side component at the same height. Sometimes they can look a little odd as there is less of it but saying that it definitively looks cleaner than the most common shower combos.

Combo With Mixer Diverter

This style of shower outlet is the premium version of shower outlets. I say this because it costs the most to execute. Not only are you paying extra for the plumbing as it requires a mixer diverter or two separate mixers not to mention you are buying two separate outlets. If the cost is not an issue I would highly recommend this style as you get the best of both worlds as its cleaner than a traditional rail combo and feels more organic.

Below is a bathroom renovation we completed in the southern river that as an example of what happens when you have a wall for shelving you need to place the showerhead further out which often requires it to be located in the ceiling.

We have an ever-growing range of shower outlets in Perth WA with bathroom renovations we do becoming more and more advanced. I love the combos regardless of which one you choose. They are really great for multiple user households especially men with little hair and women with a lot.
