Bathroom Tiling Trends of 2018

February 19, 2018

My father would always say that preparation was the most important part of any renovation, if the foundation of what you do is built solid the following construction of the room would be a smooth process. So with that mindset its import to do the research for your next bathroom renovation as it all adds to that overall preparation. This list will provide you with the latest bathroom tiling trends in Perth WA.

With trends that is what they are trends. They come and go but this is not to say they don't make the most out of the space. Below I will show you three of the latest bathroom tiling trends that I personally think work in modern bathrooms and won't age your bathroom a year from now done right.

1. Get Creative With Encaustic Pattern Tiles

Patterned designs are another trend that isn't going anywhere. Starting with colourful designs a few years ago, the pattern trend has very much settled down in terms of colour and has become more of a vintage style, with the encaustic look becoming evermore popular.  With this be careful what you pick you to need to love it with all your heart as this style is very hit and miss. Most people we have done this for have loved it but others who see the pictures don't so much. Have conviction in what you choose.

2. Eye-Popping Feature Walls

If you’re looking to make a bold statement with your bathroom update, then why not experiment with feature walls with a wow. Whether you want wall-to-wall luxury or an eye-catching feature wall, incorporating metallic accents, marble and wood with bathroom tiles is a fantastic way to transform and personalise a typically functional room. I am personally really like feature walls that incorporate the floor tile as it feels more tied in.

3. 50 Shades Of Grey

People don't like cream in 2018 as they feel it looks yellow. White feels to stark and gets dirty. Brown is very difficult for people to pull the trigger on so we are left with grey. Grey’s popularity has gained some serious momentum in the latter part of 2017 and this looks set to continue into 2018. As a fairly neutral colour, grey can be paired with almost any shade – and depending on the choice of finish, it can be used to pull off a number of different aesthetics. From edgy and industrial concrete, rustic wood-effect tiles to classic natural stone and shiny metro tiles, grey bathroom tiles are going to be a trend worth trying out in 2018 – offering numerous ways to create an impactful bathroom design.

I personally like paring the grey bathrooms with a nice wood grain vanity as I really feel like it finishes off a bathroom.

It's about being practical in your choices without having to nail a home run for every item in the room. The key for me is the overall look and feel of the end result. We only can see a few features when we look at a room so nail the big items the best you can, If you don't like trends then don't have it in your bathroom renovation it's as simple as that. I personally find that often when someone does not like something going into a renovation they won't likely feel the greatest about it at the end so be wary that it's your bathroom and something you will look at every day of your life so be happy with your choices.
