When you renovate bathrooms for a living it’s crucial you stay on top of the trends that are happening. One of the latest trends is laying tiles is in the Herringbone fashion which effectively any rectangular tile can be laid this way. The herringbone pattern is just as easy to lay as any other pattern, it is just more time consuming most Perth tilers when working on your bathroom will most likely talk you out of it. However, the end result is definitely worth the patience and time as the pattern can make any ordinary subway tile or wood plan style tile look completely different.

What is the best way to lay them

When tiling a herringbone pattern, the standard rule of thumb is that each rectangular tile is laid at 90 degrees to the tile next to it, creating what the experts refer to as a “fishbone” pattern that also resembles a set of arrows or triangles.

What’s the Best Grout to Use?

This is completely up to your personal taste and the design that you are after. It really depends on if you are making a feature or if your tile has a pattern. Matching will make the feature blend a darker grout will make the feature stand out. Most tilers in Perth WA, who tile your bathroom will often be able to give you better advice.
