Laundry Trends For 2023
May 9, 2019

Believe it or not, the average person spends at least six hours a week in their laundry washing clothes, it’s no surprise at all homeowners crave a more organized and attractive laundry space. Below we will break down the laundry renovation trends of 2024 from our experience of renovating laundries throughout Perth WA.

Side By Side

We are moving away from the overhead dryer in 2023. Whether it’s reaching above your head or the need for a more streamlined look homeowners are aiming to either combine the washer dryer or place them side by side.

Make It Uniform

When renovating multiple wet rooms it can be difficult to pick different items for each room and not always recommended. The biggest trend when comes to the style of the new laundry renovations has often matched the materials to new kitchens or main bathrooms which are often close and flow into space. The laundry can become a damp and humid space, so using similar materials from the bathroom will be a wise choice for longevity.

Below is the full set of Canning Vale renovations we completed using all the same or similar materials in their bathroom, toilet and laundry renovations.

Splash My Back

Splashbacks are one of the hardest spaces to choose coverings for. The growing trend is moving to shaped tiles such as hexagons, penny tiles, subways tiles, and the 3D tile designs to make a visual impact.

Benchtops

Organic and natural feels dominate laundry and bathroom renovations we do in Perth with the wood, marble and specific stone finishes being the most popular.

The Need To Pile Those Clothes

Pull-out laundry baskets are fantastic for keeping all those dirty clothes out of sight until you can get around to cleaning them. They also take away the need for having a gap or space for these clothes in the laundry set-up.

Little Extra Luxury

Below is an example of a bench space saver. During the process of getting the top made some stonemasons can make a cut out for placing over the sink to enable you to use every inch of the benchtop. If you can also get a gooseneck mixer that moves it allows for much better use of the space in front of you.

In 2023 the laundry has come a long way from being a space designed with very little style or function in mind. When possible keep it simple but make that space so much more functional.
