These days the sheer number of available bathroom tiles in Perth can make choosing one a very daunting task. So we have created a quick guide on the differences in tiles.
The most common types of tiles are comprised of stone, ceramic, or porcelain. Each option has its own benefits and drawbacks that can help you decide which is best for your home.
 

Porcelain

Porcelain tiles often have a very low rate of water absorption, which helps to keep them looking great for years. The tiles are baked twice during the creation process allowing for added strength often designed for heavy traffic areas. One form of porcelain tiles is vitrified porcelain which in basic terms means the colour on top is beneath the surface so if chips do occur they are a lot less noticeable. However, installation is often much more difficult, so you may end up paying a bit more for the tilers to lay them as even installing basic accessories are incredible hard to drill into with the added difficulty of mitring the thick base.

Ceramic

Ceramic tiles are the most popular option, as they work great for wet room walls due to the light nature and great colouring having only been baked once. However, I would not recommend for floors as they often don’t have the strength for walking on. Ceramic tiles are cheaper than some porcelain tiles but it does not mean they are not better. You have to keep in mind that ceramic tiles are designed for walls more or less so its best to pick something that specialises in a function.

Stone

Stone tiles in Perth offer a unique look, but they are often not the best choice for bathrooms. Stone tile is porous, which means it requires additional care during installation. Once installed, you’ll also have to deal with increased maintenance over ceramic and stone in order to keep it looking great.
