The Modern Mudroom Laundry (Butler Interiors Collaboration)
June 20, 2023

Our latest Norman laundry project in Innaloo is a perfect example of using the space you have for the best function of the room.

With all of our projects, we always start by asking what a client’s needs are for the space and what they are trying to achieve to better create something they will love and use. Let me guide you through this mudroom laundry designed by k.eszter Design Studio, built by Butler Interiors and put all together by OTB Bathrooms for our Norman Project.

Before

Below is how we started with this Norman Project. The room have a poor combination of underused space and terrible grippy floor tiles that showed all the dirt!

Planning

Klara from k.eszter put together the client’s wishes of creating a laundry space that uses its left-hand side space more effectively by creating a mud room set-up.

The basic idea of these types of rooms is for people to place their muddy shoes somewhere before they go tramping throughout the house.

Below is Klara’s awesome design for the space.

What she designed below is a stunning practical space with Scandi vibes but with a modern twist.

The return side allows for the larger benchtop with a washing machine and dryer underneath while adding the American oak shelf to tie into the entire space that curves at the end.

Execution

Our wonderful cabinet makers at Butler Interiors located in Bayswater provided all the cabinetry work which was flawless. Steve and his team followed Klara’s plans with modifications of their own to get the most out of the space.

Highlights

Below are a few of the highlights of the laundry mudroom creation including my personal favourite LED strip lighting with motion sensor technology installed by Mitch and his team at Enlighten Electric Services
